The Sisterhood
Friends, LARPers, fellow nutcases...I´m sorry this is all in English, but it´s easier to explain that way. I could translate, if anybody wants me to. Just ask. So, I figured nobody´s suggested one of the biggest cliches in the business yet, so I might as well. I present to you The Sisterhood. A religious order of sorts, The Sisterhood accepts women (and women only, I’m sorry) of all ages, races and religions, except for those who won´t or are forbidden to believe in more than one God. The Sisters are mainly healers and teachers, but we do have some fighters, ´cause sometimes you have to make the people wanna learn, right? If magic is allow- and I´m not too clear on that yet- they are magic users. Your basic ´Mist Of Avalon´/ Whitewolf Black Furies/ female clerical order. Going to be great fun. The Sisterhood believes in the Goddess in all her manifestations- Mother, Maiden, Wise-Woman, Healer, Protector etc. A Sister can represent one of the faces of the Goddess, or change her aspect- be a warrior, or a healer, or a bit of both. The Sisterhood allows its members to have relationships with men, and Sisters are encouraged to have children, preferably girls who can continue the priestess-line. The Sisterhood believes in balance, and men are definitely a part of the balance…A Sister must never belong to a man, however, and if she wishes to marry, she must leave The Sisterhood, but can still count on her Sisters to help in times of trouble. The Sisterhood has several shelters/hospitals for abused women, orphaned children and others unfortunates in every state that accepts their teachings of balance and harmony, and one main school in a secluded location (Is there an Avalon in this universe? Wouldn’t it be cool?). After several years of being tutored in the school, new priestesses are sent out into the world to help people in their native lands. The Sisterhood accepts people of all ages and social stations, but it is better to start young, usually around age 12, so that a woman can become a priestess by age 18. Many girls are sent only to be taught at the school, without completing the training and becoming Sisters. The organization outside the school is fairly loose. There are eight main gatherings in a year- midsummer, midwinter, spring and autumn equinoxes, Beltane, Hallowe’en, Lammas day and Im’olk (St. Birigid’s day)- that’s May 1st, October 31st, August 1st, and February 1st, assuming we’re working with a nice lunar/solar calendar. There are also local meetings during the full moon. The Goddess is represented by the moon, and so most of the rituals are moon-rituals. We are NOT devil worshippers, animal sacrificing barbarians or ignorant of whatever goes on outside our school. The Goddess has eyes and ears everywhere, if She chooses to use them. What all that actually means: Is that I’m looking for female players who want to spread harmony and balance and wisdom in the world, and kick some major ass when they need to. Players need to be ready to do some serious research and spell-writing, and to stay coordinated with one another before the game. I’m not planning on an official uniform, but something that looks like we all belong together- a medallion or something like that. Suggestions and ideas are welcome. About the shouts of man-bashing I can already hear rising- sorry, if you want to be a male member of The Sisterhood, I’ll need a very convincing background story. If anybody feels like inventing a druid order to do about the same thing with guys, it’ll be cool and keep the balance. And balance is good. Ladies, join me! We’ll have a world of fun. If you´re interested, leave me a message through the forum. Gilli don´t-confuse-me-with-copyright-issues, soon to be a priestess of The Sisterhood
