Survey says 1 in 3 residents visit casinos James Fink Business First Casino gaming remains one of the most popular leisure time activities in the Buffalo Niagara region. According to a just-released survey, commissioned by gaming industry giant Harrah's Entertainment Inc., those residents of the Buffalo Niagara region who go to casinos made an average of 4.9 visits to a gaming venue last year. The most popular destinations include Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls, Ont., the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and trips to Las Vegas. The survey found that 355,000 people in the region said they went to casino at least once last year. That accounts for about 30 percent of the region's population base and above the national average of 26 percent. "The demand for casino gambling among New Yorkers is undeniable," said Gary Loveman, Harrah's president and chief executive officer.
