well
the gloria is a very good card indeed better than the gf.. if you can afford to buy it..great. but if u cant and u are thinking about the vx1(which is 150$ btw.at u.s. dealers not factory price) i wouldnt suggest it.. i know many ppl with that card it´s good but nothing more not fast for EXTENSIVE scenes. if you are going to be making just spheres and boxes it;´s fine for you. but having a high poly count scene.. say 100,000 polys in a scene.. x4 viewports = 400,000 polys to render where 1/4 of them are shaded view rendered.. the vx1 will slow down there.. the gf2 can do x2 or more as much polys and it is faster. NOT TO MENTION that the oxygen cards DONT do 3d in 98/95 .. even though no one with a brain uses 98 for 3d stuff.. only nt or 2000 if it´s a pc. linux even better if the apps support it..which max dont, anyway. i use the gf for all my heavy scenes .. works like a charm the vx1 will last u like half a year before the rest of your computre will be much faster than what the card can do.. will slow u down. with the gf, not sayign it´s perfect ..but it´s better .. much better. if u do get a gf.. dont buy 3 i hear it´s not that supportive for 3d work for now..wait a while.. so only a gf2mx or ultra.. a GTS isnt worth the money.. it will incease very little poly count rendering but with games texture rendering will be twice as fast.. a thing u dont really use extensivly in 3d.. u mostly just render wireframes or shaded objects.
