There is cause for alarm when the Camden's disapprove of Simon's new group of friends, one of whom insults Annie and Lucy with his chauvinistic remarks. Norton, the kid that Simon befriends is a fan of violent rap whose negative attitude towards women seems to be influenced by misogynist lyrics. At the same time, Eric and Annie confront Simon about his newfound interest in rap music and somewhat misogynist attitude towards women. Heather gets back in touch with Matt, but Matt is unsure of her intentions. He then finds out that she is dating someone else AGAIN!
Lucy to Simon: "Simon, your friend called me a name and slapped me on the butt in the record store." Simon to Lucy: "Norton? He was just kidding around. Believe me, he couldn't have been serious." Lucy to Simon: "Simon he slapped me!" Simon to Lucy: "He didn't hurt you did he?" Lucy to Simon: "Yes he hurt me! He humiliated me, and that hurt-- a lot!" Simon to Lucy: "Well what do you want me to do about it?" Lucy to Simon: "I want you to understand that I am not a punching bag! I am not a trash can that a guy throw their filthy thoughts or words into! I am a person Simon! I am your sister! Do something!"- Annie then shows up. Ruthie to Annie: "Hey mom, that pimp behind you just called Lucy a bad word." Norton to Simon & Annie: "So this is your mother. I see the resemblance. I like it." Kid to Annie: "So watcha say mama!?" Annie to kids: "I say you're all pathetic. Go home." Norton to Annie: "Why don't you go home. You don't belong on the streets, 'cause you got no respect for me, for no man. Maybe I should teach you some respect." Annie to Norton: "You want a piece of this!? I brought 7 kids into this world, I can take one out!" Annie to Lucy: "How can you be like this after being called that name?" Annie to Eric: "His friend hit Lucy on the derriere!" Ruthie to Lucy: "What's a pimp?" Lucy to Ruthie: "It's a person that hates women." Eric to Simon: "Where did you get those pants?" Simon to Eric: "I got them from Matt's." Eric to Simon: "You know where that little fashion trend got started? Prision. You know where you'll end up if you keep wearing your pants like that? Prision!"
*Jessica Biel (Mary Camden) does not appear in this episode. *In the first airing this episode earned a 6.0 Nielsen rating (or 8.8 million viewers), leading the WB and earning 61st place for the week nationally. *The record store clerk was played by Chase Hampton of The Mickey Mouse Club (1989) & the pop group, The Party. *Adam LaVorgna (Robbie Palmer) has now become a regular cast member on the WB's 7th Heaven. He now appears in the opening credits of the show. *Music featured in this episode was from B.B. King & Eric Clapton's Riding with the King album. *In Germany this episode is known as, False Tones, translated. *This is the first episode featuring recurring star Andrea Pearson (Priscilla). *In this episode the charater Norton (played by Johnny Lewis) calls Lucy (Bevereley Mitchell) a "bitch" at the recod store, but was never heard as it was censored out when it was aired to keep the shows family fare still in tact.
