Vermont Camp GIZMO: The Center on Disability and Community Inclusion (UCEDD) at the University of Vermont recently completed its first annual Vermont Camp GIZMO, designed to explore how assistive technology and adaptations can help children with significant disabilities, including deafblindness. Twenty-six children, accompanied by their families, caregivers, and educational teams, enjoyed recreational activities with a focus on strategies for solving assistive technology needs. Camp GIZMO is a collaborative effort of Vermont UCEDD, Vermont Department of Education, Vermont Assistive Technology Project, Vermont Children with Special Health Needs, and many others.
