איך אומרים ניסבאום באמריקאית...
Yesterday afternoon Gary Bartczak, who lives near Motley, Minnesota, brought this superb homebuilt Super T-103 to our field. Gary has not yet flown a PPC (he is a GA pilot) and spent last winter building this machine. He was having some problems getting the chute to kite (more on that later) and brought it to us for assistance. We were fortunate to have an opportunity to get a good look at his beautiful creation. The craftsmanship on this machine is nothing short of superb. Attention to detail abounds throughout his entire construction. It has a brand new Subaru car engine on it which Gary purchased from Canada. He installed a re-drive with a 4-blade warp prop. He also built the exhaust system which includes an equalizer pipe designed to bridge the independent dual exhaust and provide better scavenging. The motor has a deep, mellow, sound to it and is by far the quietest PPC I've ever heard. I also noticed that it is almost vibration free and it is incredibly smooth. When you sit in the seat, if it wasn't for the pleasing sound of the engine, you almost wouldn't know it was running. Gary used the cooling system (radiator, coolant container) from a Volkswagen. The radiator is mounted low which is a great safety feature. If it ever leaked it wouldn't be spraying coolant on the pilot's head. The John Deere green and yellow paint scheme lend this machine a pleasing charm reminiscent of days gone by on the farm. Yet the obvious technology and clean lines make you very aware that you're gazing upon a modern art form destined to grace the skies. The gentleman taxing Gary's PPC is Denny Pearson, who flies a Don Stutts Renegade. Congratulations on a fine machine, Gary! More pictures to follow. (source: Dave Beckstorm)
