השמועה אומרת שנסגרה הבאסטה של ויזת ה- H1B. עו"ד יעקב האמנם? מה עם הארכות אחרי השלוש שנים (טוב יש עוד זמן אבל פולנים כאן) תודה מראש. דפנה KC

חיפשתי, חיפשתי, ולא מצאתי דבר

הי דפנה, הדבר היחיד שמצאתי זה הצעת חוק (שטרם התקבלה) לבטל כליל את סוג הויזה הזה. לדעתי - קוצר ראות. האמריקאים לדעתי צריכים לעודד הגירה סלקטיבית של פרטים תורמים לחברה. השיטות שאני מכיר להגירה הן ההגרלה המפורסמת, נישואין לאזרח אמריקאי, מקלט מדיני, וקבלת ויזת עבודה זמנית (לסוגיה) שלאחריה מבקשים גרין קארד. משלוש השיטות הנ"ל רק האחרונה היא אותה הגירה סלקטיבית, השאר הם הגירה מקרית למדי. טל.

Hi Dafna and all, Sorry for not visited for a while, I am working on a number of projects and hope to have more time in the next few months. I do try to answer to all of you who conatct me directly. As for the H1B visa numbers, the most recent statement from U.S. Citizenship andImmigration Services (CIS) has revealed that as of December 31, 2003, the end of the first quarter of fiscal year 2004, a total of 43,500 capsubject H-1B cases were either approved or pending inthe queue for adjudication. As the cap on H-1B visa approvals for fiscal year 2004 is 65,000, that leaves approximately 19,700 available spots for the remaining nine months of the fiscal year. Should the rate of H-1B applications continue at its current pace, CIS may reach its cap sometime in February. With the application cutoff date approaching so rapidly, H-1B petitioners should apply as soon aspossible. Hope this helps, Jacob S. American Immigration Services [email protected]​
