No news. A week ago I sent them an e-mail, requesting for the update: "Hello Sir / Madam, I submitted my application for Permanent Residency (Skilled Worker Class immigration) on July 29th 2005. According to the e-CAS, the application is “In Process” since August 12th 2005. On the form with the File ID assigned to my application it was stated that I shall not contact your office at least for a year. A year and a half have passed with no progress in the process. Could you kindly update me on the status of the application? The File ID is XXXX. Thanks a lot in advance." It took only an hour to get a reply: "Dear Sir, Since sending the acknowledgement letter at the submission of your application, our inventory has grown and the yearly targets we have received in the federal skilled worker category decreased resulting into a longer waiting time than the one estimated in that letter. Currently, the estimated time frame in the waiting queue, before your file is brought forward to an immigration officer is 24 months. Although at the submission of the application, the estimated time frame was 12 months, this is subject to change according to the volume of applications received and the yearly targets issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to our office for the various categories. As you submitted your application on August 7, 2005, there have been no undue delays, as it is still less than 24 months. Once it will be the time for your application to be brought forward for assessment by an officer, a letter will be sent to you advising you of the result of that initial assessment and the next steps in the processing of your application if the assessment is positive. Sincerely yours, Immigration Section" So, after cutting all the bla-bla-bla, you can summrize this as "Get lost till August 2007".
