Preparing A Winning Resume
As someone who has read many professional resumes and has worked for both American and Canadian companies, I feel qualified to state that there is no difference between a resume targeted towards the Canadian market and one targeted towards the American market. You simply change the wording and certain details in order to emphasize that your qualifications and objectives fit the position that you are applying for. In addition, unlike the requirements in some other countries - in Canada and in the U.S., you do not include personal details or a photo. And, you need to sell yourself, but not to boast.

אני יליד קנדה (מונטראל PQ), אם ישראליה ואבא קנדי, לאחר שאבי נפטר אימי חסזרה לארץ איתי ועפ אחותי, התגייסתי לצבא ונפצעתי אנושות כוצאה מפגיעת ראש חודרנית TBI (קליע בראש) לפני כשמונה וחצי שנים. כל משפחתו של אבי נמצאת בקנדה ומפוזרת במונטראל, קוובק, אוטווה וטורנטו. מקשר עימם הם מזמינים אותי לחזור לקנדה כבר כמה שנים. אבל (ותמיד יש איזה "אבל" מעצבן) אני "חייב" להישאר בארץ מכמה סיבות: ** מחוייבות שלי למדינה שנתנה לי והשקיעה בי - אולי אני ציוני בגרוש אבל ככה אני מרגיש ** משפחה - אימי ואחותי הן הדבר בחשוב לי ביותר ואני לא חושב שאוכל לחיות רחוק מהן - הספיק לי בצבא. ** שיקום - אני לא יודע מה אוכל לקבל בנכר מבחינת שיקום פיזי, שזה הדבר החשוב ביותר לי כרגע. ** עבודה - אין לי מקצוע ואני מתקיים מתגמולי אגף השיקום במשרד הבטחון. לא נהיר לי אם אני אמשיך לקבל את התגמולים גם אם אחיה בחו"ל ואם כן - האך יהיו צמודים ליוקר המחיה בחו"ל. ** תרופות - אני יודע שכשנכה צה"ל יוצא לחו"ל לטיול הוא מקבל החזרים על תרופות מנציגות ישראל ע"י הצגת "כרטיס ירוק" ותעודת נכה צה"ל לא ברור לי מה קורה עם שהיית קבע. ** חברים - אני לא מצפה שיהיה קל אבל אני ארכוש לי חברים עם הזמן. זו לא סיבה מונעת או מרתיעה. אני לא מצפה שכולכם תדעו את התשובות ו\או תייעצו לי. אבל לאלו שכן יש תשובות (ואפילו חלקיות) אשמח להקשיב ולהפנים, אם לא אז פתחתי יון מעניין בפורום. כמובן שאני לא אעשה שום צעד לפני שאני אבדוק את כל האפשרויות והשאלות שאני מעלה בפורום זה חלק מכל העסק. המושג "לתת יותר מידי" לא קיים אצלי בלקסיקון. אני נותן כי אני מרגיש שייך ורוצה לשנות, כדי שיהיה לי ולצאצאיי בעתיד נוח וטוב יותר. אם אני לא אעשה אז לא יהיה מי שיעשה..... בכל זאת אשמח לשמוע אם יש כאן נכי צה"ל שעשו את הצעד הזה כי למעשה חוץ ממקצוע, בית וחברים יש לי אזרחות שזה הצעד הראשון בהגירה.

can tell you few facts.. First , the "tagmulim" will go into your account in Israel as always, you have to "withdraw" it from there into Canada, which is not a problem, and you can ask your bank to convert it into Canadian dollars, and deposit it into a foreign curency account, from where you make a withrrawal every month Now after three month here, you get to receice medical treatment from your province, which in my case is found to be far better then the medical treatment I received from "misrad habitachon"in Israel (some cases are sent to Totonto for treatment, not the opposite direction, by the way) and in my view, you can live better in Canada on the same ammount of money then in Israel As far as friends & family goes, it is your personal call, nobody can advice you on that take care!

If you have low income, and the
cost of medication is over certain percent of your income, you are entitled to "drug plan", by the province (I know the Ontario system, but I am not sure about the Quebec one. Ithink because the federal government force provinces to apply same levels of benefits, it ought to be quite similar there) You can ask your relatives to ask in local drug store about the prices of specific drugs, anf which types are used in Canada, you may have to take doctor´s perscription, and ask the pharmacy in Israel to give you a printout of the ingredients in the drugs you take, so local pharmacy or doctor can tell you the paralel medications here. I can tell you there are many types of medication here which Israelis do not know about, and can be great for you, so keep an open mind on the issue Take care!

פוחדים שזרים יציבו סטנדרדים שלא יוכלו לעמוד בהם. בארץ כשהייתי עובד פחות משישים שעות בשבוע הייתי בבעייה מה עושים עם על הזמן הפנוי. אני זוכר שפעם אפילו יצאתי מהמשרד ועוד היה אור בחוץ וזה היה ממש מפחיד.
