1. במידה ואני מתגוררת בחו"ל ומעוניינת להוציא ויזה מסוג B1 או B2 לארה"ב, האם יש לי אפשרות לעשות את זה בשגרירות ארה"ב במקום מגורי, או שחייבים להיות בארץ בשביל זה? 2. אני מעוניינת לנסוע לארה"ב לצורך ראיונות עבודה (טרם נקבעו, עלי להיות בארה"ב לפני כן). האם עלי להצהיר על זה, והאם זה יכול למנוע ממני קבלת ויזת מסוג B1/B2? 3. בהנחה שיש לי קשר עסקי עם ישראלי, בעל אזרחות אמריקאית בארה"ב שמעוניין שאנהל חנות ששייכת לו. הוא מעוניין בהעסקת עובדים דוברי עברית והציע לי את העבודה בגלל הכרות עסקית, איזה סוג ויזה הכי כדאי שהוא יבקש עבורינו? 4. בהנחה שהתקבלתי לעבודה ובעל העסק שלוקח חסות מגיש עבורי בקשה לויזת עבודה (כנראה מסוג H2B), האם יש אפשרות שבמקביל לבקשת הויזה (לפני תחילת העבודה) הוא יגיש גם בקשה לגרין קארד, או שעלי לעבוד תקופת זמן מסויימת ורק אז להגיש בקשה כזו? האם יש מינימום זמן שעלי לעבוד בויזת עבודה מאושרת לפני שהמעסיק רשאי להגיש בקשה כזו?

Hi Liat: First of all if this is the first time that you are applying for a visa to the US, you will need to do it from Israel. If you just need an extension it might be possible to apply from a third country. I would suggest to do it in Israel due to recent changes in immigration procedures. If you tell them that you are going to look for a job, most likely you won´t get the visa. Section 240 of the US immigartion Act deals with immigration intent. If you have such intent, you do not qualify for a B1/B2 visa. So do not mention that at the application process. If you have a college degree(BA) your empoyer might seek an h1b visa for you. that visa will allow you to work in a profesional capacity in the business. the visa is good for 3 years and one extension of 3 years is possible. you can apply for a green card immediately after you h1b is approved. if you don´t have a degree he might want to consider the H2B visa, bt that is only a temporary visa and you won´t be able to apply for a green card after that.
