There are two charity events now being planned which will benefit NYC firefighters. On November 3, there will be a 3-hour shipboard cruise around Manhattan with Hudson and other celebrity guests. We´re also happy to announce that Hudson will be appearing at Creation´s Nov. 10-11 San Jose convention, and that there will be a charity breakfast there which will benefit NYC firefighters in addition to the Ellis foundation. The charity breakfast at Dearborn will also be split to benefit both causes. For more detail about these events please visit the HLOFC website conventions page. This effort was spurred by the tragic plight of a Brooklyn firehouse which lost 7 of its men. The families of the deceased (one of whom had 10 children) really need our help. If you´re unable or unwilling to attend either of these charity events, please visit the conventions page anyway, for information on how you can contribute to these unfortunate families or to the relief efforts in general. Hudson will also be auctioning off her bed for charity. It´s a beautiful hand-crafted iron canopy bed. We´re currently working out the final details of the auction etc. Proceeds will benefit the victims of the September 11th tragedy. The auction will begin on Thursday, September 27th. Please monitor the HLOFC website for more information and a link to the auction. To those of you who are helping and giving, Hudson and the HLOFC staff would like to say a heartfelt Thank You. We hope you´ll continue to help as you can. Last but certainly not least, we are always looking for submissions for the HLOFC Newsletter. Here´s a message from our newsletter editor, Kevin McIe: "Anything from pictures to stories to personal accounts of Hudson events, and also poetry. Basically anything creative, from all ages. There´ll be no discrimination as to quality...A 5 year old´s crayon drawing of Callisto has the same chance of getting printed as one of Marty Slater´s best works. All I would really like is diversity, and as it´s December, I would really appreciate Christmas-oriented stuff. The newsletter team is me, Sean Donohue, and Paul Holdsworth, and we are all accepting submissions through the following addresses: [email protected] is mine.
