I am more sure than I have been of anything I've ever told you here that Michael Vartan is not leaving Alias. Please read Teddy C.'s column, and read my column, and tell me whose highlight chemicals have seeped to their brain. (Hint: I don't have them.) My sources (which now include people attached to the show and Michael personally) all tell me that Michael is staying put. He is under contract, he's not going anywhere, and despite any discomfort the two may or may not be experiencing from having to work together (including SPOILER ALERT! the aforementioned love scene), they are professionals, and will continue on with the show. And we will love them dearly.
