Wednesday’s “Survivor” Season 37 finale may have dropped 21 percent in ratings from last year’s comparable episode, but the CBS reality competition didn’t really have anything to contend with last night. That made for an easy primetime win for the so-called Tiffany network.
Outside of CBS, which followed the finale with a reunion special, everything else on the English-language broadcast networks was a repeat.
CBS was first in ratings with a 1.4 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 7.2 million, according to preliminary numbers. The “Survivor” finale at 8 p.m. put up a 1.5/7 and 7.6 million total viewers. That’s actually fewer viewers than last week’s episode, though this one ran for two and a half hours. The half-hour reunion special starting at 10:30 had a 1.0/5 and 5.1 million viewers.
