Dear workers of Madoogali, I am a dyslexic-dysgraphic person that has to compose a lot of documents in English which is a foreign language for me. As you can guess, the MS Word tools are helping me a lot but they are not enough for me. I’ve learned to use them better than any one I know but still, if I use only them I spend too much time and concentration effort on spelling and still have spelling mistakes. One of the common symptoms of Dyslexia and Dysgraphia is switching the letters in the written word. When I do it the word processor is signing the word as a word with a spelling mistake and if I do not use your product, Key2Speak, I have to start staring at a lot of misspelled word and it takes me quite a lot of time to figure out what is wrong with any of them. The MS Word correcting suggestion list is helpless for cases of letter switching. I wonder if any of your products or any modification of Key2Speak can help me bypass another common symptom of Dyslexia and Dysgraphia. It is hard for me to distinguish between homonyms like “then” and “than” or “mail” and “male”. And since I am writing in a foreign language the problem is augmented. First because I do not distinguish between the pronunciations of many pairs of words, so for me there are more homonyms than there really are. And second because my vocabulary is smaller than the vocabulary of a mother tongue speaker and I am not aware to the risk that I may have wrote a homonym to a word I meant to write. My defense from homonym mistakes is very poor. After I type every word I try to think if I know a homonym of it and if I do I press the Shift + F7 keys to open the MS Word Thesaurus and verify the meaning of the word I typed. This method takes too much key pressing time, too much thinking time and too much concentration effort. If the Key2Speak could be set to open the MS Word Thesaurus every time I press the Space Bar or to say a synonym of the words it reads when the Space Bar is pressed, my life would be much easier. Thank you for your wonderful product. Typing English without it is unthinkable for me. Ido Ben-Zvi An Assistive Technology student DHD Master Program UIC
