gap year- מצאתי "שנת הפסק" ו"שנת חופש" וכל מיני צירופים נוספים מאמינה ששנת חופש יכול להתאים אלא אם כן יש ביטוי שלדעתכם יותר מדויק ואשמח לדעת.
Hulu subscription is going to waste.
חוץ מניסוח של "המנוי שלכם הולך להתבזבז" יש אפשרות נוספת לנסח את זה?

gap year - שנת חופש נראה לי סביר, לא חושבת שיש תרגום מדוייק. בכל מקרה התרגום המדוייק לא רלוונטי לקורא הישראלי, שנמצא מחוץ לארה"ב מסיבות אחרות...

waste - המשפט הוא בהווה, "המנוי שלכם מתבזבז". going כאן הוא חלק מביטוי, לא במשמעות של "הולך/עומד ל" (אחרת מה שכתוב כאן היה "הולך לבזבז" ולא "להתבזבז" - הפועל כאן פעיל ולא סביל).

בנוגע ל going to.. ראיתי בהרבה תרגומים שכותבים "עומד/הולך ל".. אבל רק בהקשר של אנשים, אם כך לגבי חפצים זה שונה

זה פשוט תלוי בהקשר

את יכולה להגיד going to במשמעות של "הולך/עומד (לעשות משהו)" גם על חפץ: הספר עומד ליפול מהמדף the book is going to fall off the shelf. אין כלל אצבע לדברים האלה לדעתי.
