Thanks for your kind compliments, Doug! I find that a significant portion of the joy I receive from being an RV8 owner is the extended "family" that becomes a part of your life. The RV community is one of the few groups of people I find to be always welcoming and supportive. It´s hard to find that these days in our business or personal lives. We all love to fly, and especially love these great airplanes Van designed for us. It´s the least I can do to make the building and flying of these airplanes easier and safer for those just starting or hitting the occasional stumbling block along the way. It´s simply the right thing to do. I don´t always have the right answer to every question, but I know what worked for me, and what didn´t. Also, since the birth of my son, I don´t have the freedom to fly as much as I used to. By staying active online, and working through various issues with other builders, I find it helps to fill the gap between the actual flights I do get to take when Grandma can care for my little one. I´m dreaming of the day when I can hand over the keys to my RV to Skyler, and tell him "she´s yours now son, and I expect you to be kind and helpful to other RV´ers so that they may enjoy their airplane as much as you do." I´m sure Danny (Randy too!) has similar feelings about the pride of RV mentorship. Brian Denk RV8 N94BD 294 hrs, and a thousand grins.
