Composer Marco Werba, winner of the Italian Entertainment Bureau's prestigious "Colonna Sonora" Award, and author of numerous symphonic and chamber music pieces, has completed a composition for Oboe, strings and timpani dedicated to the victims of Auschwitz. "Adagio for the Victims of Auschwitz" is a solemn, moving and important contribution to the collective memory of the Holocaust and is destined to become one of the musical jewels of the 21st Century. We are seeking one or more sponsors to finance the recording of the adagio. Sponsors would enhance their public image by supporting the project (depending on the level of sponsorship, they might be able to receive royalties). There are plans to prepare a promotional CD of the adagio for distribution to radio stations, film productions and other audiovisual companies that might be able to use Werba's adagio in films or documentaries. This original and unpublished adagio first came into being while Marco Werba was studying music at the "Mannes College of Music" in New York. Over the years it underwent various trasformations before taking its final form in 2007. Here you will find a "music demo" of the adagio created with orchestral digital samplings and a solo oboe performed by Orlando D'Achille. The first part of the project would involve recording in a professional studio with highly qualified musicians (The London Symphony Orchestra has expressed interest and availability). We hope that you will be able to join us in realizing what is destined to be a memorable musical event.
