Saturday´s Pasadena Con and Kevin ---------------------------------------------------------------------- So Last night, (Friday), I came home and went to this message board to tell everyone how amazing Josie Ryan was in “Sister Wonder Woman” and about the amazingly fun performance Claire and Hudson did, only to be shocked to find out that Kevin had passed away. I’m still shocked but mostly sadden. It was a very emotional day today. There’s stuff I’m gonna leave out because I can’t remember a lot of what everyone said. I might get what guest said what mixed up, but I’ll try and write as much as I can remember. I hope other people that went to the con will be able to write more. So, Today I get to the con and there’s a letter on our chairs saying that Kevin had passed away. It talked a bit about what a wonderful person he was and that there will be a special program at seven. Everyone was talking about it and was shocked and sadden. One of the Creation people came up and talked a bit to us and said that Josie is donating the gift basket that Lucy and Rob sent to her for her play. Sharon came on to start the convention and she talked a little about Kevin and how she’ll miss his smile. Claire came running on the stage to give Sharon a hug. We watched WFC, and then Katherine Fugate came on stage. She started out her appearance by saying that there will be a lot of moments of silence for Kevin but she wants us to applaud him, so we did. Ted came out and with the help of one of his fans, who donated a Joxer costume, made some money for the charity for Kevin’s family. Next were Katie Stuart, William Gregory Lee, and Victoria Pratt, who I missed because I was getting Katherine Fugate and Josie Ryan’s autograph. I was there for Alexandra Tydings who came out with short dark brown hair. She was very emotional in the beginning. Wiping away her tears. Some people in the audience was helping her get through by yelling out “I love you Alex” she would tell them I love you back. She went on to say how she loves all of us and she’s glad that we’re all together in this moment for love and comfort because we’re all like a huge Xena family. I gotta say she is as beautiful inside as she is outside. She is a wonderful person. She wanted to do something for Kevin’s family so she found in her closet her Aphrodite costume and auctioned it off. Hudson came on and said she knows Kevin is fine that it’s his family that need’s the love and help to get through this. At the end of her appearance someone asked if she would auction a kiss to donate money to Kevin’s family. She agreed and eventually decided whoever would donate a thousand she would kiss. So, three guys and three women did. Hudson kissed them, she really kissed them on the lips and the kisses were not short. It was great. She rules. Before she got off stage she asked us to join her in a moment of silence and send our love to Kevin’s family. At 7:00, from what I heard they were going to bring out Renee and with Lucy on the phone sing Happy Birthday to her. Instead, and rightly so, we had a memorial for Kevin. They put up a picture of Kevin on the screen and dimmed the lights. Alexis Arquette, Steve Sears, Ted, Bruce, Victoria Pratt, Alex, Hudson, Michael Hurst, and Renee (who is now a brunette) came out, all very somber. They had Lucy on the phone, and she talked first. She read from something she wrote. What I remember her saying was that no matter who Kevin was talking to, if it was a president or an extra for the show he treated everyone he came in contact with with an equal respect. Then everyone else talked about him. Saying that even though he’s this hunk of a guy he had a big heart and was a smart guy. Steve Sears said that once he found out there were websites on Kevin he told Kevin about his popularity and that he’s this big sexy hunky guy now. Kevin blushed and was embarrassed and brushed it off. I think it was Michael who talked about a time when three in the morning Kevin came running out of a bar naked, cheering that his sports team won. Some one brought up a story about when after playing or singing, being a bit drunk, and having to wake up early in the morning for work Kevin woke up four in the morning to feed and change his baby´s diapers. There was a lot, just a lot of talking about what a wonderful person he was. When Renee talked she was so upset and all I can remember was how emotional she was and struggling with what she wanted to say, but when she was done Lucy said” Good on ya Ren”. Then Michael wanted us to give Kevin a standing ovation, but first he wanted to read a piece from Shakespeare. When he was done we all stood and gave Kevin the best standing ovation we could and every one on stage was clapping with us. Renee turned around to look at the picture of Kevin as she was clapping. Then Ted looked at her and put an arm around her. Then Michael gave her a big hug. When she turned to us to wave good-bye she had lost it when everyone was clapping. She was crying her eyes out and that just got to me, so I started crying. Everyone left the stage and they turned the lights on and we were all quiet. Then we hear Lucy say ”Yeah”, which was funny cause everyone left and she’s still there on the phone. Sharon walked over and said “Your still on the phone”? She said she wanted to stay on to hear everything. She tried to talk more but she was upset. She ended with saying it was a very good memorial. It was a fun day but it was a sad day. It was an emotional day, it was real. With the service for Kevin all of us fans and the actors were together in this moment of sharing in our sadness. It was beautiful. I know I must sound corny but I’m just glad I was there. Alex said we’re all like this huge family and if felt like it at the service. My first con was one that Kevin was in. He was funny and was the sweetest guy. Whenever he was done answering someone’s question he’d say with a smile”Cheers Mate” It’s so sad but I agree with Hudson, Kevin is fine, it’s his family that needs a lot of love and help.
