אם הם קיימים, הם מימדים מקופלים. פירוש הדבר הוא שאינך יכול להרגיש בהם בחיי היומיום. קח דף נייר. יש לו שני מימדים, נכון? כעת גלגל אותו לצורת צינור. עדיין יש לו שני מימדים, אבל אחד מהם מקופל. אם היית מגלגל את הצינור דק מאוד, קשה היה להבחין במימד הנוסף. כך גם שאר המימדים, אם הם קיימים, מקופלים. הסבר יפה לכך תמצא בספר "היקום האלגנטי" של בריאן גרין.
