A bit confused

Hi everybody! My name is Igor.Iam a bit confused.I am 36 and at the moment live in London although was born and bred in Russia. My dad is Jewish ,but my mum is russian(although my mum's dad was jewish her mother was russian, that makes her russian ,as i understand).I grew up in Soviet Russia surrounded by many of my jewish relatives, bearing my fathers jewish surname and being considered by everybody as jewish untill I discovered about this mother line /father line. That identity crisis put me off for a while. Now I really want to immigrate to Izrael, but a little confused whether I have a right to, and I am also a bit unsure whether it is a bit too late for such a move at my age of 36. Could you please give me a couple of thoughts about my situation?I have looked into this forum and found it very inspiring. Thanx in advance

According to the law

Of return, if your father is Jewish and you can prove that, you are eligible to make Aliyah. But, in your case checking your eligibility will be made not by the Shaliach but by "Lishkat Hakesher" probably. so, instead of being confused, make an appointment with the Shaliach in London, and after getting a professional consultation from him it will be clearer to you if making Aliyah is suitable for you.
