ALIYAH 2006
Hey, I'm 24 and after 7 years I am finally making aliyah! I'm having a few issues... of course. 1st, I have had Nefesh B'Nefesh guide me to many options in what to do when I make aliayh. I settled on college (hopefully IDC) but being that I will get there in Feb or March I will have to wait for the next year to begin. So, my question is this: Do i stay in an absorption center until then? I'd imagine I'd want to be in Ra'anana ac since it is close to the school I'm hoping to get into but... is it too late to secure a place in the center. I just now sent my packet in to my shaliach and I really don't want to delay my aliyah date for fear of backing out. Another question I have regards the name change. Would I take the name I have on my Bat-Mitzvah Certificate for example... which is long, or keep my usa name? I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Be well to all, Z.
