Aliyah Queries
Shalom Alechem, My wife and I are seriously interested in making Aliyah but we're not sure where to begin the process and also there are some issues we may need to iron out before we proceed. My wife is Jewish and can go back 3 generations positively identifying her Jewish heritage, however, we're not sure if we can obtain the necessary birth certificates as evidence of this. Neither my wife or her parents attend synagogue and so we wouldn't have any rabbinical support to our evidence. We have learne that it is possible to have DNA testing carried out that could provide conclusive evidence of my wife's Jewish heritage. Does anyone know if this is accurate and acceptable to the authorities when applying to make Aliyah. If so, does anyone know of a reliable DNA company that carries out such tests. We would also need to know if our application would support I as her husband being a gentile also being permitted to make Aliyah. We have a 16 year old daughter. Many thanks in anticipation.
