aliyah/ returning Israelis

We are planning on coming to Israel in approximately 4 years ( we made semi unsuccessful aliyah 1986-88) but have heard two disturbing rumours. 1) If you are over age 59 national health insurance will not cover you. My husband was born in 1949 and will be 60 if we come in 2009. 2) If you work outside the country that money is fully taxable. I am a physician and am hoping to transition by continuing part time work in the states but its not worth while if I pay plane fair, 33% tax in the US, and 50% tax in Israel. When we were in Israel I worked for almost a year as a physician on a temporary license... I am a board certified family physician... what do I need to get a permanent license? Chava
