Hi lekulam, Today I went to driver services in Burnaby BC to take the knowledge test. I showed them my israeli license with a notarized translation from israel and to my surprise I was told by the clerk that they do not accept translations made outside of BC! now I need to call the stibc and find someone to translate my license. a real pain in the neck. In short: don't bother to translate you'r license in israel, it's money gone to waste.

מארגן אצל כל נוטריון קנדי זול תצהיר שלך שההעתק נאמן למקור, שולח את זה לקונסוליה בטורונטו אחרי שדיברת איתם בטלפון, מצרף 9 דולר והם שולחים לך אישור קונסולרי באנגלית שמאשר שאתה בעל רישיון נהיגה בדרגה כזו או אחרת בוותק כזה וכזה. האפשרות השנייה היא לארגן אם הצטלמת באחרונה בארץ למשרד הרישוי לבקש ממישהוא לשלוח לך את הרישיון החדש. החדש שנשלח בחודש האחרון ממשרד הרישוי עשוי לפי כל הכללים.

I followed Ofer's advice (thank you ofer!) and went to driver's services office in Richmond 5740 Minoru Blvd. They accepted my old Israeli license with no problems, and the nice lady there told me that I didn't even need to translate it! the knowledge test is $15 and it includes a vision test if you pass (I did). Another surprise was that they did not take my Israeli license after I passed! I am allowed to drive with it for 90 days starting the day I recently enetred Canada. Right afterwards I booked my road test online at www.icbc.com. The earlyiest date I could find was September 19 in Coquitlam. I will keep updating.

פשוט תהיתי איך זה אפשרי אם בדר"כ "מחרימים" את

הרשיון הישראלי כשעושים את התיאוריה ומחזירים אותו כשעוברים את המעשי. אם זה במקומות שונים זה דורש הגעה לשני המקומות לסיום התהליך. בכל מקרה הבנתי שממך לא לקחו את הרשיון הישראלי, אז אין בעיה. בהצלחה!
