Jafi shlichim

Hi Every office that offers the services of an aliyah Shaliach, is a Jafi office. Jafi also has other emissaries that work within the Jewish communities, that work as teachers, councils etc. Regarding to other agencies – if you'll mention their names/ titles, I can try to give you an accurate answer.

Ezrach Oleh

Hi One of the most important things when you are an "Ezrah Oleh" is to calculate correctly your past stays in Israel. Each and every visit, above 4 monts a year, can affect your rights and it varies because every government ministry treats it differently. So, the Jafi's representative is an excellent channel for you to find out all those things before you come to Israel and many of the bureaucratic hassle is saved by that. There are also many programs that are suitable for you and the Shaliach can recommend and register you to one of them.

FAQ - JAFI Assistance../images/Emo104.gif

Because this Question is frequently asked – I have chosen to bring this for you, please read. There are quite a few advantages to making aliyah through the Jewish Agency's offices outside of Israel. To name a few: 1) Jewish Agency representatives will help you clarify your status prior to your arrival in Israel. This means that you will be informed while you are still outside of Israel, in your country of residence, what documents you need to present for making aliyah. In general it is much easier to prepare these documents while still abroad. 2) In most cases, you will be able to receive your status and i.d. number upon arrival in Israel, or (such as cases of returning minors and citizens born abroad) shortly after arrival. This will enable you to proceed almost immediately to sort out all the things you need to do in order to get your life going - opening a bank account, finding employment, signing up for health insurance , etc. People who change status in Israel often have a waiting period for an appointment with the Ministry of Interior and then generally wait at least one month before being granted oleh status and receiving an i.d. number. 3) Your Jewish Agency representative speaks your language!, and can give you most of the information that you need to know about making aliyah. 4) Making aliyah through the Jewish Agency outside of Israel entitles you to receive airfare to Israel, an overweight allowance on the flight, and transportation to your first destination in Israel. As mentioned above, in most cases you will receive your i.d. number and teudat oleh upon arrival to Ben Gurion Airport, which already saves you two steps!
