for Z.Barak - flying in Italy
unfortunately there is no way to convert a foreign liscence to an Italian one, not even to get a letter of validity like in the U.S.A. and without an Italian liscence there is no way to rent a plane here. I rented twice a c-152 in holland and flew on my own after a check with a local instructor - but a Dutchman can NOT do the same in Italy. - This might be change within 2002 with the new joint European aviation rules called JAR (joint aviation rules). The only way is to do a short flight school here , followed by a test (could be in English) and a proficiency check with an inspector. Zvi - I plan to be in Israel next week - already scheduled a B--B-Q with Millis, so check with him - get yourself invited and I will tell you more.
