Foreign worker driving in Israel

Foreign worker driving in Israel

I am a foreign worker on a B1 Visa. Do I need an Israeli driving license to drive in Israel or can I use my full UK driving license? If I can use my UK license, is there a time limit? Does the permitted time begin again with each entry or renewal of the B1 Visa? The Israel Government Portal section on "Who is permitted to drive in Israel with a foreign driver's license?" - http://www.gov.il/FirstGov/TopNavEng/EngSituations/ESMigrantWorkersGuide/ESMWGDriversLicense/ - mentions "tourists and returning Israeli residents" but does not mention foreign workers. Thank you.

Hello, According to the Ministry of Transportations' call center, in order to drive in Israel you must have your Foreign Driving license with you. You can use your foreign license for one year from the day of arrival to the country. After that you will have to convert your license to an Israeli one. For more information please contact the Ministry of Transportations' call center at: 1-222-5678 or *5678 Sincerely, Adva
