And here's another model
This is a traditonal model folded from two papers. I used to make dozens of this when I was a kid. UNIT 1 A. Start with the white side up. Fold the top EDGE to the lower EDGE, and unfold. B. Fold the top EDGE to the crease created in step A C. Repeat step B on the lower side. This is sometimes called a cupboard fold. D. Fold the Right EDGE to the left EDGE, and unfold E. Fold the right EDGE to the crease created in the last step and unfold F. Repeat step E on the left side. G. fold the top EDGE to the bottom EDGE along the crease created in step A. You now have a 1:4 rectangle split into 4 squares H. On the rightmost square, fold the bottom-right CORNER to the top-left CORNER of the small square I. on the leftmost square, fold the top-left corner to the bottom-right corner of the small square J. On the square to the right of the center make a fold whose CREASE runs from the top-left to the bottom-right of the square K. On the last square remaining, fold along line running from the top-left to the bottom right UNIT 1 is complete. It should be a shape made up of 4 equal triangles UNIT 2 a. Repeat steps A-G b.On the rightmost square, fold the top-right CORNER to the bottom-left CORNER of the small square c. on the leftmost square, fold the bottom-left corner to the top-right corner of the small square d. On the square to the right of the center make a fold whose CREASE runs from the top-right to the bottom-left of the square e. On the last square remaining, fold along a line running from the top-right to the bottom left UNIT 2 is complete. It should look like UNIT 1, just reveresed (Left handed vs. right handed) ASSEMBLY Each unit has an open side and a closed side in it's center. Place the two units so that the closed sides touch each other and so that each unit is perpendicular to each other. You should get a shape that looks almost like a Nazi cross. Each unit is made up of 4 equal triangles. Fold the outermost triangle and insert it into the openning in the middle of the other unit.
