hi, i am an american citizen and we want to start a green card process for my husband. we are already in the u.s, in Boston. We would like to know if it's necessary to use the help of an immigration lawyer or its possible to do it on our own. We already have the forms and the medical check is also behind us but now we are alittle confused of what doing next. We would like to hear opinios and if anyone can tell us about the sponsorship process. thank you for any answer. elana and yonatan

זה עולה כסף - אבל למה לך לעשות טעויות? עורך דין שמתמחה בתחום עושה עשרות תהליכים כאלה בחודש - בזמן שאת תעשי תהליך אחד כזה בחיים. עורך הדין מכיר את התהליך, יודע מה לא לעשות וממה להזהר... הצעתי היא לחשוב על העלות של עורך הדין כהשקעה לטווח ארוך - כדי שתהליך הבקשה יהיה קצר... אין לי נסיון בספונסרשיפ - אז לא אוכל לחוות דעה על התהליך הזה.

עקרונית, אם אין איזה מצב

מסובך מבחינה משפטית, אתם יכולים לעשות הכל לבד. אם את אזרחית, הכל לגיטימי, אין בעיות מיוחדות, יש ספונסר, אז לא צריכה להיות בעיה. אבל: אם יש לכם לחץ זמן, אם יש בעיה עם הספונסרשיפ או כל דבר אחר, ויש צורך לזגזג בין סעיפי החוק - אולי כדאי לקבל את עצתו של בוסטון גאי. בגדול - אם החלטתם לעשות זאת לבד, יש פה מספיק אנשים שעברו את זה ויכולים לתת לכם עצות, אם תשאלו שאלות ספציפיות. ובכל מקרה - אם העסק מסתבך, תמיד אפשר לפנות לעו"ד, אבל למה לבזבז כסף מהתחלה? דורון

thanks for the advice, as u can see though, one answer was to use the help of a lawyer and the other not to use a lawyer so we r still alittle confused. thanks again elana and yonatan

and just another question... my husband entered the u.s on a visitor visa and not on a fiance visa. should this be a problem for the green card process? thanks again for any answer. elana

בדיוק לזה התכוונתי... אני ובוסטון גאי לא סתרנו. אמרתי שאם אין בעיות, אז קל לעשות לבד. אם יש סיבוכים כדאי שעו"ד יטפל ולא תיכשלו בקטנות. והנה - מתחילים לצוץ הפרטים שאומרים מה המצב באמת. אם בעלך על ויזת תייר הוא צריך לעבור תהליך שנקרא AOS=adjustment of status. יכול להיות שייקח עד שנתיים עד שיגיע לגרין קראד בגלל כל מיני תהליכים ותור ארוך (בארץ זה היה לוקח עד חודשיים שלושה). פה יש מה לפנות לעו"ד, על מנת לעשות את זה הכי קצר ונכון. אני לא מכיר את התהליך מנסיון, אז אני לא יודע לייעץ. נדמה לי שעמית6 עבר את זה, אולי גם ליאור? בכל אופן תשימי הודעה חדשה למי שעבר AOS ותתייעצי איתם. לעו"ד אפשר תמיד לפנות... דורון

AOS-any body can tell me about it?
