Hey all - an Army question
Hey my name is Asaf Lubin, I'm 18 from Rishon Le-Zion, Israel. I'm here in the name of a friend of mine, Matt Hoffman, hes 18 and lives in one of Boston's many suburbs. Matt considers doing Aliyah after finishing college in the states (probably by 2009, he will be around his early 20s). One of his concerns regarding Aliyah is about the army service he will be obliged to undertake. So does anyone know how long a service he will have to do, like what does the law says? and how is this period being calculated for new Olim?.... Also do any of you know of special programs being offered by Zahal to Olim, specifically from the states, like lets say in intelligence (a need of english speakers) or anything of that nature?
