I want to invite everybody
in the Origami world in Israel to come to my paper-sculpture show this Tuesday night at the Henkin Gallery of Design (7:30pm, Henkin 109, Holon). Lots of new and exciting pieces all from the last few months, that no one has seen; and one folding technique that (I think) is entirely new anywhere…. While I’m not completely sure if what I’m doing is or is not origami--to me it feels more like traditional sculpture--I am sure that everyone connected with origami will find something of interest in this show. I’m following all the usual rules (start from rectangles, no cutting etc.), so if it isn’t origami it raises the question Why Not. Also the old question, Is Origami A Proper Art---and if not, What Would it Take to make it one, gets directly raised here. Anyway I’m bringing in some animals that are unquestionably origami--here as with everything else all original designs--so there is something here for the whole family I also hear from Yuval that there will be a surprise Come! Saadya
