Jepha "Jeph" Howard (born January 4, 1979) - bassist of The Used (punk/emo) Began playing the bass guitar in his early teen years. Jeph says he wishes he had began playing earlier on in life. Before Bert McCracken joined the band, Jeph sang lead vocals. However, he found that lead vocals were very difficult for him as the words got stuck in his throat, and went back to playing bass guitar. Jeph dropped out of high school to pursue a career in music. Before The Used signed with major labels, they did home-recordings in Jeph's bedroom. However, he is not allowed see his daughter very often due to issues with her mother. He does however say she is "in the back of my head everyday." -Jeph has more than 10 piercings and has spent well over $2000 on tattoos. -Interested in Japan and the Japanese culture. -He is apparently the nicest member of The Used. -Drinks alcohol in moderation. Does not smoke or do drugs. -He practices his bass guitar on a regular basis. -He enjoys drawing, going on the computer, and playing video games. -Jeph believes that bassists should have no boundaries and there are no rules to playing bass.
