The magazine were interviewing her, the brains behind the film, as promotion for the movie's TV debut on Saturday night. "I have been approached by Paramount to see if I'd be interested in being involved with the sequel. It's very much in the planning stages at the moment. No-one has agreed to anything." Although details on the possible sequel are currently in the early stages of development, Fey explained that she'd like to go in a new direction with the film. "I think that if we did a sequel, bringing a new set of characters would be the best way forward. Like meeting 'the next generation of mean,' I think that would work." Thus far, none of the original cast have been linked with doing a sequel, however Rachel McAdams [who played Queen Bee Regina George] and Lacey Chabert [who played her fellow Mean Girl Gretchen] have both said in recent interviews that they'd be willing to do a sequel
