For what it is worth: everybody (who has made aliyah, or who knows somebody that has made aliyah) advises it is better, easier and cheaper to buy a car in Israel, than it is to import, especially if it is an older car....and then dealing with customs and the paperwork is mindbuggling! Not to say anything about breakdowns, repairs, spare parts, mechanics, etc., especially if your model is not marketed in the country. Then again, we need to think about helping the economy by buying there! Of course, there have been people who have gone against the current, and have imported cars into Israel....Good luck if you do
