Jobs In Israel

I will be graduating from an American University in January and would like to go to Israel and get a job, but my Hebrew is not up to par, while I do know a bit, I definately am still at a very introductory level, will this hinder me a lot, or will my prospective job send me to an ulpan? Thanks for the info.

Hi

Well, the first and the most Important thing to do during the first year after making Aliyah, is to learn Hebrew. this is the key to your absorption, and finding a good job. You are given "SAl Klitah" -that means some money to start your life in Israel. the money will support you during the first six monthes and that is exactly the time to learn Hebrew. good luck

why discourage the poor guy?

as much as mastering Hebrew is vital to daily life in the Holyland, there are quite a few opportunities for individuals who are less than fluent Hebrew-speakers, some of which can be found here http://www.aaci.org.il). The AACI "a voluntary, non-profit organization was founded in 1951 to aid North American immigrants to acclimate to Israeli society, and to build strong ties between North American Jewish Communitites and Israel". Good Luck Amigo

Mastering Hebrew

of course that you can find a job without perfect Hebrew, but... in the first six monthes - year in Israel it is advised to dedicate your time to learning Hebrew!! it is the most important thing to do. the varity of jobs will increase with good knowledge of the language so, there is no need to pity anyone - just to explore options logicaly.
