more about flying in Holland
Right - Lelystad is like Herzliya - there are several aviation companies rentin GA airplanes there, such as WINGS-OVER Holland, Lelystad flight Center and so on. Irented twice a C-152 from the latter, and after a 30 minutes check with their instructor went on my own. I happen to know the country very well and also to speak the language, but they all speak English. Lelystad is inside Amsterdam Schiphol CTR so you have to be careful with altitudes, but other than that it`s easy to fly there. I flew once ot the east of the country and another time to an Island off the north-sea coast, to a small airfield there. Prices for C-152 are Euro 220 per hour, plus landing fees for each single landing, - about 10 euro`s Weekdays cost a little less. The instructor did 3 touch-n-go with me, so I had to pay for all the 3 landings plus the one at the end of my own flight. As far as payments are considered, the Dutch are real Yeke`s Another place I rented a C-152 is in Austria, in a beautiful airport some 40 km.s south of Vienna, called Wiener Neustatd - where they manufacture the Katana and the Dimina - The rules (check with an instructorand so on) and the prices are roughly the same. By the way - from there you can try and get a flight plan to Slovakia. Zeev
