Need for some advice

I am writing from Romania and thinking to leave for Israel. The point is that I am not Jewish by religion. And here comes my story. My father has emigrated to Israel some 20 years ago (during communism). He got married with an Isreli citizen. He has received the Israeli citizenship. And now I would like to go to live in Israel. Is this possible? As my father has passed away, I wonder if this would be possible. I am informed that there is a law giving Israeli citizenship and the right to live in Israel to the children of an Israeli citizen. This is just like a perpetual citizenship law, or something. Is this true? The BIG POINT is that I have no papers to prove that my father has been living in Tveria (Tiberias), nor that he had the Israeli citizenship. Actualy, I have no papers about him, after he left home country. I am not married, I have no children. Where am I able to get some more information? Could you please inform me what would be the procedure to receive a copy of the papers proving his status in Israel? Any comments are welcome. Thanking for your time. Andrei
