non-Jewish mother

thanks

Luckily, I have no interest in marrying into an Orthodox family. Anyway as I said I have been living in Israel for 6 months now (in Be'er Sheva) and will be here another 6, and yes I've been accepted by everyone of course, even in Jerusalem, and even as a shabbos guest in the homes of many orthodox Jews and in their shuls as well...even at a few ultra-Orthodox shabbatons. It's not like I look different or anything. Thanks everyone for your replies, I am considering coming back in 2007 for at least 2 years and getting citizenship then, and although I'll go back to the states for grad school after those 2 years, I want to have this so then the choice is an easier one to make when I'm ready.

non-Jewish mother

I am 20 years old, my father is Jewish and my mother is not. I was converted (I think only by the 'strictest' conservative rabbi willing to do it at the time) when I was an infant. I have never been anything but Jewish. No Christmas trees in the home, no Christian education or practice. I was raised in the Reform movement - 15 years of religious school, had a Bat Mitzvah, had a confirmation, very involved in temple/regional/national youth group in high school. Now more into Conservative practice, working and volunteering in Jewish field, majoring in Jewish Studies, currently spending a year studying in Israel. Does all that mean anything if my conversion wasn't Orthodox? If I want to make Aliyah, will I have to have an additional conversion?
