rent a car in israel? 18 yrs old?
hi, I'm going to israel during the summer for 3 months
and doing the magen david adom volunteer program for 2 months. I'm going to be living in kiryat shmona for that time. So I wanted to rent a car for a month or so and travel around the country. Maybe staying at hostels/motels or simply sleeping in the car. I called many israeli car rental agencies and you have to be either 21 or 24 to rent a car. I'm 18 years old and will be using a California drivers license. Does anyone know of any car rental place in Israel where I would be allowed to rent a car? (or have an older person rent it - but I can legally drive it) And lets say someone thats over 24 rents the car, and I drive it. If I get pulled over by the police for say making a "right turn on red". How much trouble would both the person who rented the car and I get into? Are there serious fines for this? Thanks!
