Student Authority age limitation

I am an American citizen and made Aliah recently. My question is regarding Student Authority assistance in finishing my education for BA in Israel. My problem is that I am above the age of when the assistance is usually offered. I am in mid forties and in America in general it is quite common idea to change careers in midlife and go back to school for that. I think it is a less practiced in Israel. Anyway, was there ever exceptions from the rule that Student Authority assistance for studying for/finishing Bachelors degree is limited to the age ~27-30 ?

student authority

I am not familiar with the Student Authority, although I can tell you that in Israel there are exceptions for everything. In many cases, a well-written letter can convince the authority or organization to act indulgently. When it comes to helping Olim, I guess the success rates are even higher... What university are you going to? Many universities offer special assistance for Olim who don't get support from the Student Authority. Tel Aviv University (where I study), for example, offer a special fund for this matter: http://www.tau.ac.il/studentservices/dean/keren_leolim.htm Please let me know if I can be of help. Although I'm not a big Aliya expert, I might be able to help you with finding useful information. My email is: sentiment100 (at) gmail.com

It is always good to try../images/Emo66.gif

contact the Student Authority and ask - they have "Vaadot Irurim" (appeals) for almost everything. you have nothing to lose. try to ask help from the AACI (www.aaci.org.il)
