.......

This company - http://eteacher.co.il/ They work as an "online school", they have lessons in many subjects including the psychometrics & Hebrew for Elementry school levels which may be right for your brother.

also

http://overseas.huji.ac.il/ you might want to consider contacting them, and asking them about your brother's situation, and if at all he would be required to do the pshycometric exam if he already is in the middle of his studies in france and wants to continue studying in israel etc....

Studying in israel and the Army

Hi, My brother lives in France with my parents. He is 16 and will finish school at 17, next year.(bagrut) HE wants to study dental medecine. He also wants to come to live in Israel without my parents next year. For this we have to consider 2 things : 1) the Army, 2) the studies My questions: 1) If he begins his dental studies in France (2-3 years) and comes to Israel after this, will it be recognized by the israeli universities and will he be able to keep on the 3 or 4 last years in Israel? 2) If he comes at 17, how long will he need to serve in the IDF? 3) IF he comes after 2-3 years, at 20, how long will he have to be at the IDF? 4) IF he comes after his studies when he'll be 23-24 (if he still wants to come...) what's about the Army again? what's about his studies? will he have to add more years for his dental diploma to be recognized in Israel? Thanks deborah

.........

Ok, i'll try to answer but hopefully someone here could give you better answers as i am partly guessing..... (Fact) - the IDF doesn't like enlisting boys/girls under 18, but they do it sometimes if both parties are interested. whenever he comes to israel (after 18 and before 30 i think) he would probably get enlisted to the army within the two years after he arrived. There shouldn't be any problem with his completed Degree being recognized in israe. on any event, GoodLuck

army report?

Is there a way to come to Israel at 17 as an ole and study his 2-3 first years of dental medicine, then go to Army, practice as a dentist there and together keep on with the remaining years of studies? Or maybe get a report of the Army until he finishes the studies? Thanks deborah

another option

The army has a program called "Atuda" where people go to school, and complete degrees in various fields (mediciene, engineering, computers and so on) and after they complete their degree they do their mandatory service (the 3 years) + a few more years working for the army in the field of their studies and for a "regular pay" (not the soldier pay in the 3 years which is not more than 600NIS usually), after they complete this term of working (it diffes from person to person i think) they are sometimes offered to work for the army or they finish their "service" and can do whatever they want......... PS - i just finished this page - http://www.aka.idf.il/giyus/general/?CatID=23080 it has a table at the bottom showing how much time every newcomer to israel will serve according to his "status".
