TAXI ACCIDENT, ALMOST../images/Emo4.gif
Here is a short story about expirience i had last weekend, besides instructing at van nuys during the week dayS, im flying from an interesting mountain airport north to L.A its called agua-dulce and is surly challanging with the terrain around it and the high pressure altitude. Last sunday a student of mine almost taxied our 172 into piper aerostar that was ready to start taxi from the transient parking area to the run up area lucky i noticed my student and made him to pay attention where he was GOING we both waved goodbye to the aerostar occupants and smiled to each other... Long story short, the aerostar crashed 10 seconds after takeoff and all the 4 occupants on board got killed, i got to the crash site in about 3 minutes on a borrowed atv, the sight was terrible, 4 fepole burned still in their seats the fire department got there a minute after, there was nothing much to save... N700US was a nice airplane. its sure strange to wave goodbye to someone at 12:55 and see the remains of it/him at 13:02 when i got back to the airport i noticed that my student was still in shock, after i gave hime my cell phone and he called his wife to say that he is okay and safe on the ground, i told him: YOU SEE DEAR MIKE , HAD YOU HIT NOSECONE OF THE AEROSTAR WITH THE CESSNA WINGTIP, ALL THAT TRAGEDY WOULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED... he agreed with me that black humor realy helps in that kind of situation. Today we did our first flight after, mike was doing well...
