Tribute planned for Smith Fans will have the chance to farewell kiwi actor Kevin Smith in Auckland this week. The 38-year-old star´s body is expected back in the country this weekend, with Smith´s family planning a large tribute to him. Fellow actor Michael Hurst says the tribute will reflect Smith´s ´amazing versatility and his love of life.´ Smith suffered fatal injuries after falling from a film set in China while "exploring". He died in a Chinese hospital after losing a 10-day fight for his life. The death sparked a landslide of public tributes at home and abroad. New Zealanders will be given the chance to pay their respects to the star with a service at Auckland´s Aotea Centre. Smith´s body is due back in the country this weekend but the exact timing is not being made public at the request of his family. He will be laid to rest at a private funeral in Timaru.
