Try Israel for a year?

Right now, my wife and I are contemplating moving to Israel for a year to see if we want to make Aliyah. We are well off financially and I have a job in the States that would let me transfer to Europe. (I'd have to travel to Europe to work for two weeks each month) So, money wouldn't be a problem. If anyone has any experience with this kind of thing or any advice about this, I'd love to hear it. Also, we are active in Conservative Judaism here in the States. We can be comfortable with Orthodox Judaism, at least the American kind. How are these things diffent in Israel. Thanks All!

Have you been to Israel ?

Hi It is important that you'll experience Israel first, than it will be easier for you to decide. Also, what is your wife's profession? She will need to keep busy too. How is your Hebrew? How many kids do you have? What ages? You need a full consultation. I strongly suggest that you contact your shaliach. Here is the list of all of them http://www.jafi.org.il/aliyah/english/cat.aspx?cid=56
