Tysabri in Israel

Dear Dr Karni, My wife was recently diagnozed with MS and is treated with the new mAb drub Tysabri (formerly Antegren). We are planning a visit to Israel, and might have to miss her scheduled infusion. If we bring the drug with us, do you think she can recieve it under medical attantion? If not in a public clinic, maybe through a private one or where people recieve it within a clinical trial? I know it's not yet approved in Israel, based on previous drugs, how long before it's approved and how long before it's covered? Thanks, Guy Shakhar

Your wife may have the possibility to get the drug in one of the daycares infusion units. You probably need to get a special aprooval by local ethic commity on a form called 29 GIMEL .
