anybody had experience with/knows about vaadat hairurim? i roughly translate it as "appeals commission"; it is supposed to be a body of the moia that looks into exeptional cases and could render non-standard decisions

You are correct Vaadat irurim discuses cases which do not exactly apply with the standard rules of Misrad Haklita. We, as the Aliyah department, can bring forward cases and recommend accepting or giving monetary or other assistance even if it doesn't really "on the spot". I wish you luck with Vaadat irurim
