hello, im in bolivia right now. befor i left israel i did vaccinations in ¨lametayel¨, this is the place that ¨klalit¨sent me to. i chaked my international certificate of vaccionation lately and i found that i have only: hepatyrix and yellow fever. it can be that ¨klaliti ¨sent me without doing typhoid fever and more nececery vaccions?? (now im with diarias) should i do here missing vaccions? thanks gilad

Hello, Gilad ! It's hard to hear that you are ill , I am really hope that this illnes doesn't have any major influence on your trip to South America, and that everything will be OK soon. As to the vaccinations, Hepatyrix vaccine includes 2 active ingredients: against Hepatitis A AND against Typhiod fever (in the same shot). This is the vaccine we also use, so I see no problems here. I cannot respond to the need of additional vaccinations (there are some) in your case, for I am not familiar with your previous medical and vaccinations history. Diarrhea is NOT a common sign of Typhoid fever, so I think that you have another cause of your illness which is called Travellers diarrhea. The best way to treat this condition is to drink a lot of fluids (pure of course), and if your condition is severe, a short course of antibiotics (like Ciprofloxacin or Azythromycin) for 3 days will probably help. Try to remain cool... Hi again the answer for the question you asked is- it depends... you may have needed to get diphteria-tetanus- if you haven't got one in the past 10 years (you get one in the army) measles-mumps-rubella: if you were born between the years 1957-1978 meningococcus- if your trip is for > 1 month and if you haven't got one in the past 5 years (you get one in the army) and the other vaccines you have already got also- take pills to prevent malaria if you are entering certain zones have fun
