Visa through a Resident

Hello.I am an American RESIDENT, that is eligible for my citizenship in a year(after 5 years of living here). i was wondering if anyone knows what happens if I get married to a non resident(whos here on a tourist visa) do they get okayed, or should I wait till I get my citizenship. Does it make any difference to the INS? answers in Hebrew are welcome too. Thank You

marriage to a tourist

As a resident if you marry a non immigrant person, he will not be able to adjust status immediately. He will need to be legal here while he is married to you.
