War time factories

In the 2ND World War many factories, that during piece time where manufacturing regular appliances and machinery, where converted to produce for the war effort.Many where cooperating with the different army departments and all where under the heading of Albert Speer, as Minister of Armaments, taking after Fritz Todt (founder of the Organization Todt, which was in charge of all forced-labor in the Third Reich and occupied Europe) in February 1942, following his mysterious plane crash right after his meeting with the Fuhrer in Rastenburg.War production was increased and factories important to war production used many forced-laborers and POW's, such as this one here in the scans, an envelope from the Skoda Werk, which during the war was an important weapons manufacturer.

This factory located on the border of then Germany and the General Government was an important one in the contribution of parts manufactured for the V1 and V2 rockets, that where later used to bomb London in 1944.The factory used forced-laborers and POW's from the area.This ID in the scan belonged to a German worker at the plant.

This ID, also used in a facility that contributed to the war time production of armaments, was using this forced-laborer at the Mittelwerk complex that produced the main parts for the V1 and V2 rockets.Mittelwerk also housed the infamous Mittelbau concentration camp, where prisoners, Jewish and non-Jewish worked till their deaths.

This plant manufactured the famous Panzer tanks which the German army used for its wars.The Nibelungenwerke, in now Austria, also housed a concentration camp, a Mauthausen sub-camp that also used Jewish prisoners.This ID belonged to a German worker of the plant, issued in 1943.
