with respects to ziv
I don`t have much time, so as a farewell present to Ziv I`ll dedicate to him the message I was about to write a few days ago The best cup of wine I ever had! Without revealing to much about myself (I know you all love the anonimity of the forum), and with hope that Eri will not tell on me to much, let me give you a small detail about my life: I have a few hobbies (yes, yes I don`t sit and drink all day long as it may seem some times), and quiet strange ones. one hobby is mountain climbing. When I say mountain climbing I meen the real thing, ice, snow, rock climbing, with all that funny gear: ropes and crampons and ice axes and a lot more (did antbody watch ``clifhanger or verticle limit? that`s not even close to reality but that`s the idea more or less) . about a week and a half ago a friend and me went to climbing in the Mt. Aspiring area in New Zealand. we had to carry a lot of gear so we had to cut short on any other things (mainly supplies ) we actualy checked each others` pack to see that we`re not carring anything nneceserry. though the waight was terrible, I decided to take (actualy snik in so my partner won`t see) a small 330 ml bottle of cocka cola filled with one of the Otago wineries wine (pinot nuar) our first climb was to a summit called ``the rolling pin`` it was a hard day and it was actualy my first summit. I took the bottle with me to the summit and when we got there i drew it out to my partners` surpprize (of coarse that he was happy to see it! he didn`t carry it the whole bloody way) and we had a toast to selebrate the success of our first climb. up to that moment, that was the best cup of wine i ever drank. the next day we tried to climb mt. aspiring itself. it was very very hard and very very dangerous, unfortunetly in the middle of the way we got stuck. after a long dillema we decided to give up and go down back to the alpine hut that was our base. the next day we left the mountain area back to the near by town when we got there i drew the bottle from my pack again ``why did you carry this all the way down ?`` asked my partner, ``because now we are going to have a toast to out common sense, to the fact that we are both here safe and sound, and to good decision making`` i said. and we had that toast, which let me tell you, was the best cup of wine i`ve drank so far. Cheers Ziv, though I still hope you change your mind, I know that you do what is best for you!
